The Opal is a high-quality, solid timber table for people who want to play like a professional without breaking the bank.
It has a classic design, plays brilliantly and is very durable, enough so that it can withstand endless games from friends and family for decades to come.
The Opal is made with a solid box-frame construction, which features hardwood rails and six 5½-inch rounded legs bolted directly into the solid timber frame. The frame has five 7-inch by 1-inch solid timber cross-members that the one-piece slate sits on, plus, the leather pocket protectors are hand-stitched onto solid bolted-down chrome brackets which is far superior to screw-on pockets.
Regarding the slate, although pool table slate has traditionally been sourced from Italy, slate exported from Brazil is now widely used by the best billiards manufacturers in the world as it offers greater abrasive resistance allowing for a better playing surface. The one-piece Brazilian slate used in the Opal also meets the international standard of ¾-inch thickness, this, matched with the high-grade English FSN Directional Cloth allows for fast, smooth play with superior spin to enhance gameplay.
